Description
The Turin is a single-light outdoor pendant built from die-cast aluminium with a black powder-coated finish, clear glass panels and a chain suspension adjustable between 585mm and 1050mm drop. The lantern housing measures 330mm tall by 200mm wide, with a traditional tapered form and pyramidal top that sheds rainwater away from the chain mount. The IP54 rating confirms protection against dust ingress and water spray from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, patio overhangs and garden arbours.
Designed for installation under eaves, canopies or pergolas where the pendant is sheltered from direct weather but exposed to ambient moisture and temperature variation, the Turin accepts a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately). Most installations use a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to replicate the appearance of a traditional gas lantern while keeping running costs low. The clear glass allows full light output without diffusion, casting defined shadows and providing functional task light for doorways, outdoor dining tables or pathways.
The die-cast aluminium construction gives the fitting a solid 2.8kg weight that resists movement in wind, while the powder coat provides corrosion resistance in coastal and urban environments. Norlys backs the Turin with a five-year warranty with no coastal exclusion, confirming the finish is rated for salt-air exposure. The chain length is adjusted during installation by removing links before final wiring, so the drop can be tailored to ceiling height and the specific location of the fitting.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP54 confirms the fitting is dust-protected and can withstand water spray from any direction. This makes it suitable for covered outdoor locations such as porches, canopies and pergolas, but not for fully exposed positions where it would face direct rain or submersion.
What bulb is recommended?
The Turin takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to replicate a traditional lantern appearance while keeping energy use low. Bulbs are sold separately.
Can the chain length be adjusted after installation?
The chain is adjusted during installation by removing links before final wiring. Once installed and wired, the drop is fixed unless the pendant is taken down and re-fitted with a different chain configuration.
Is it suitable for coastal locations?
Yes. The five-year warranty carries no coastal exclusion, confirming the powder-coated aluminium is rated for salt-air exposure. Regular rinsing with fresh water will extend the finish life in high-salt environments.
