Description

The Tropic is a 2-light wall light featuring two hammered brass semi-circular shades mounted on a curved brass arm, each housing a G9 bulb behind a frosted glass globe. The brass shades are hand-embossed with a geometric dimpled pattern that catches and reflects light across the surface, while the frosted globes diffuse the direct output from the G9 bulbs to provide ambient rather than task lighting.

Designed for hallways, living rooms and bedroom accent lighting, the Tropic mounts vertically with the curved arm extending upward and to the left. The 56.4cm height and 21.5cm projection suit wall sections where vertical emphasis is needed, such as either side of a doorway, flanking a mirror, or breaking up long corridor runs. The two light sources provide approximately 80W combined output when fitted with standard G9 halogen or LED bulbs (sold separately), which is enough to illuminate a 2-3m section of wall or hallway.

The brass construction carries a warm golden tone with a low-sheen satin finish rather than high polish, which reduces glare and pairs well with warm-toned interiors, mid-century furniture and darker wall colours. The hammered texture on each shade creates visual interest when the light is off and adds depth when lit, as the embossed pattern casts micro-shadows across the brass surface. This fitting is sold as a 'left high' configuration, with a mirrored 'right high' version available separately to create symmetrical pairs around doorways or architectural features.

The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor areas only. The wall plate measures 17cm in length and conceals standard UK back box fittings, with the curved arm and shades projecting 21.5cm from the wall when installed.

The Tropic takes two G9 capsule bulbs up to 40W each (sold separately). Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs in the 3-5W range at 2700K-3000K for warm ambient lighting. Standard G9 halogen bulbs also fit but consume more energy and run hotter.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means this fitting is only suitable for dry indoor areas. For bathroom use, you need a wall light rated IP44 or higher for zones 2 and 3, or IP65 for zones 0 and 1.

Is there a right-hand version available?

Yes. This is the 'left high' configuration where the curved arm extends upward and to the left. A mirrored 'right high' version is available separately, allowing symmetrical pairs to be installed either side of doorways, mirrors or architectural features.

What's the projection from the wall?
