The Tropez is a 500mm flush-mount ceiling light combining six G9 halogen bulbs with an RGB LED colour-changing surround, controlled via a dedicated remote. Cascading icicle-cut glass droplets hang from a polished chrome circular frame, with the RGB LEDs mounted around the perimeter to wash the glass in selectable colours. The halogen and RGB systems operate independently, allowing white task light, colour-only ambience, or both simultaneously.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4-2.8m where a low-profile fitting is needed but a decorative focal point is still wanted, the Tropez suits living rooms, entertainment areas, bedrooms and larger hallways. The 370mm drop keeps the glass clear of head height in most UK residential ceilings, while the 500mm diameter provides presence without overwhelming smaller rooms. The remote allows switching between seven preset colours and two motion modes (fade and flash), plus dimming the white halogen lamps when dimmable G9 bulbs are fitted.

The icicle glass droplets refract both the white halogen light from above and the RGB wash from the perimeter, creating layered reflections and colour gradients across the glass. Each piece of glass is faceted to catch and split light rather than diffuse it, so when the RGB is active the effect is closer to a prism than a glow. The polished chrome frame reflects the ceiling and surrounding room, integrating the fitting visually while the glass remains the dominant feature. At 4.5kg the Tropez requires a secure ceiling joist or noggin fixing rather than a plasterboard-only mount.

Can the white and RGB lights be used separately?

Yes. The remote control allows independent operation of the six G9 halogen bulbs and the RGB LED surround. You can run white light only for task lighting, RGB only for ambient colour, or both together for layered effect.

Are the G9 bulbs dimmable?

The halogen bulbs can be dimmed using the remote, but only if dimmable G9 bulbs are fitted. The included halogen bulbs are dimmable. If replacing with LED G9 bulbs, check the bulb packaging confirms dimmer compatibility.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 370mm drop suits standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m and above. In rooms with 2.4m ceilings the lowest glass droplets will sit approximately 2m from the floor, clear of typical head height in circulation areas.

How is the fitting mounted?

At 4.5kg the Tropez requires fixing to a ceiling joist or cross-noggin between joists. A plasterboard-only fixing is not sufficient. The polished chrome backplate covers a standard ceiling rose and connects to mains wiring via a terminal block inside the fitting.
