Trellis 3 Light Outdoor Pedestal Lantern - Bronze

The Trellis is a 584mm outdoor pedestal lantern housing three E14 bulbs behind seeded glass panels, finished in bronze with a cast metal frame. The lantern sits on a circular pedestal base designed to mount on brick gate posts, rendered pillars or wooden fence posts, with a scroll arm supporting each bulb inside the glazed chamber and a cast loop finial at the apex.

Designed for gateways, driveway entrances and garden boundary posts, the Trellis provides directional light in all four directions through the seeded glass panes while the bronze frame casts vertical shadow lines onto the surrounding masonry or brickwork. The IP44 rating protects against rain and windblown dust, making the fitting suitable for exposed UK coastal and rural positions. The pedestal base requires fixing through the centre mounting point into masonry or timber using appropriate fixings for the substrate.

The seeded glass diffuses direct glare from the bulbs while allowing enough light transmission to illuminate a 3-4m radius around the post when fitted with 40-60W equivalent LED candle bulbs. The bronze finish is a powder-coated aluminium that resists corrosion in wet conditions and develops a darker patina over time if left untreated. The scroll arms and rivet detailing reference 19th-century carriage lighting without replicating period proportions, giving the fitting compatibility with both Victorian brick gateways and modern rendered or timber posts.

What bulbs does the Trellis take?

The lantern takes three E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a period-appropriate glow.

Can it be fitted to a wooden post?

Yes. The pedestal base mounts through a central fixing point and can be secured to timber, brick, rendered block or stone posts using appropriate fixings for the substrate. The base diameter is 279mm, so the post top should be at least 300mm square or circular to provide adequate support.

Is the IP44 rating suitable for exposed coastal locations?

IP44 protects against rain and windblown dust, making the fitting suitable for most UK outdoor positions including coastal areas. The bronze finish is powder-coated aluminium designed to resist salt air corrosion, though annual inspection and cleaning is recommended in exposed locations.

How is the seeded glass cleaned?

The glass panels lift out once the frame is dismantled. Wipe with a damp microfibre cloth and mild detergent solution, rinse with clean water and dry before refitting. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may scratch the seeded texture.
