Description

The Tramena is a slim up and down wall light built from two square steel blocks, finished in black and set on a gold backplate, with a narrow gold band running between the blocks at the centre. It stands 17cm high and 5.5cm long, and projects 8.5cm from the wall, so it sits close to the surface rather than reaching into the room. Each block holds one GU10 lamp, and the two lights are rated at 2.8W each, giving 250lm per light. Its IP20 rating means no protection against water, so it belongs indoors in dry rooms only.

Because the light leaves the top and the bottom of the fitting, it throws a soft wash up and down the wall, giving a hallway, landing, bedroom or living room a gentle, layered glow. A pair either side of a bed or a fireplace works well, and a row along a corridor brings rhythm to a plain wall. The black and gold finish sits comfortably with modern and monochrome schemes, and the gold band still catches the eye when the lamps are off. With only 8.5cm of projection, it also suits narrow passages where a deeper fitting would crowd the space.
