Description
The Trame is a 17.5cm diameter flush-mount ceiling light built from a matt black metal drum with an open bottom aperture that emits light downwards and outwards. An integrated 6W LED sits inside the drum, casting warm 3000K light through the aperture onto the ceiling surface above and down through the open base. The result is indirect ambient light rather than directed task lighting.
Designed for low-ceiling spaces where a pendant would hang too low, the Trame sits 8cm proud of the ceiling and suits hallways, bedroom centres, walk-in wardrobes, utility rooms and cloakrooms with ceiling heights under 2.4m. The open-base design means the lamp is visible from below as a bright circular ring, so it works best in circulation spaces or secondary rooms rather than living rooms or kitchens where direct glare from the LED might be uncomfortable.
The matt black metal exterior absorbs rather than reflects light, keeping the fitting visually recessive against dark or mid-tone ceilings. The 6W LED output is modest — sufficient for a 4-6m² space such as a hallway or bathroom but not enough as sole lighting in larger rooms. The 3000K colour temperature gives a warm white tone similar to halogen rather than the cooler daylight LEDs commonly used in bathrooms. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations only.
The integrated LED is non-replaceable, so when the LED reaches end-of-life the entire fitting is replaced rather than just a bulb. Maytoni rates the LED at approximately 30,000 hours, which translates to around 10 years at 8 hours per day of use. The fitting mounts directly to a standard UK ceiling rose and connects to mains wiring inside the canopy.

Frequently Asked
Is the Trame suitable for bathrooms?
The IP20 rating limits the Trame to dry indoor locations only. It is not rated for bathroom zones where moisture protection is required. Use it in hallways, bedrooms, walk-in wardrobes or utility rooms instead.
Can the LED be replaced when it fails?
No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and non-replaceable. Maytoni rates the LED at approximately 30,000 hours, which gives around 10 years of use at 8 hours per day. When the LED reaches end-of-life, the entire fitting is replaced.
What size room does the 6W output suit?
The 6W LED output suits smaller spaces such as hallways, cloakrooms, walk-in wardrobes and bathrooms up to approximately 4-6m². For larger rooms the Trame works best as secondary or accent lighting rather than the sole light source.
Is it dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility is not specified in the technical data. Contact us before pairing the Trame with a dimmer switch to confirm compatibility.
