Description
The Tournai Grand is a 1168mm-tall outdoor wall lantern with four E27 bulb holders enclosed behind seedy glass panels, set within a hand-cast aluminium frame finished in textured bronze. The scrolled bracket extends 635mm from the wall, suspending the lantern head clear of the mounting surface on a decorative S-curve arm with acanthus-leaf detailing at the top and base.
Designed for large-scale residential and hospitality exteriors, the Tournai suits porticos, grand entrances, courtyard walls and tall garden elevations where a lantern below 800mm height would appear undersized. The 432mm width of the lantern head provides substantial presence without overwhelming a typical 3-4m wall run. The four bulbs (sold separately, max 60W each) give enough output to light a 2-3m ground area from a typical 2.5-3m mounting height, making the fitting functional as well as decorative.
The bronze finish is applied over die-cast aluminium rather than stamped steel, giving the frame a heavier weight and finer moulding definition at the decorative elements — the beaded rim, the fluted crown, the turned finial at the top, and the leaf scrollwork on the bracket. The seedy glass has intentional seed bubbles and ripples distributed through the panes, breaking up the light pattern when the bulbs are on and giving the glass an aged, hand-blown character. The IP44 rating allows the lantern to be mounted in exposed positions subject to rain and wind, though not direct water jets or fully submerged.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Tournai holds four E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use 6-10W LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to balance light output with running cost.
What is the IP44 rating suitable for?
IP44 protects against splashing water from any direction, making the lantern suitable for exposed outdoor walls, covered porches, and entryways. It is not rated for submersion or direct high-pressure water jets.
How is it mounted?
The back plate is 432mm tall with pre-drilled fixing points for wall plugs and screws (fixings not included). The 635mm projection and 1168mm overall height make this a substantial fitting — mounting into solid brick, stone or block is recommended over lightweight cladding.
Is the bronze finish applied over steel or aluminium?
The frame is die-cast aluminium, not steel. This gives better corrosion resistance outdoors and allows finer moulding detail at the decorative elements without adding excessive weight.
