Description

The Tortoreto is a compact flush ceiling light: a slim white cylinder that sits close to the ceiling and directs its light straight down through an open base. The body is aluminium in a clean white finish, 15cm tall and 6cm in diameter, and the whole fitting weighs just 0.28KG. It takes a GU10 bulb, which is not included, so you choose the brightness and the warmth of white that suits the room. With no water rating given for this light, we recommend it for dry rooms indoors.

Because the light is directed downwards, the Tortoreto works well wherever you want light in one particular place: over a kitchen worktop or a dining table, in a hallway or beside a favourite reading chair. A row of them along a corridor or a run of kitchen units gives a tidy, modern line, and the plain white body sits quietly against a white ceiling, so the fitting looks like part of the room rather than an afterthought. It suits anyone who wants a neat, unfussy light that points exactly where it is needed.

There is no switch on the fitting itself, so it is switched at the wall, and it runs on 220-240V mains. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a PDF download. The body is aluminium, a light metal that does not rust, so the fitting is easy to handle while it is being fixed in place. Before the light goes up, make sure you have a GU10 bulb ready, as one is needed before it will shine.
