Description

The Toronto is a 220mm diameter wall light with an integrated 10W LED at 3000K, built around two overlapping circular discs, a matt black front ring and a recessed back disc that houses the LED. The light source sits behind the front ring and projects a warm 820lm halo onto the wall around the fitting, creating an architectural wash effect rather than direct downward or forward light.

Designed for hallways, bedroom walls opposite the bed, landing walls and contemporary living spaces where ambient wall wash is preferred over task lighting, the Toronto provides soft background light without glare. The 75mm projection from the wall is shallow enough for narrow hallways while the 220mm diameter gives the fitting visible presence on larger wall expanses. The matt black finish absorbs daylight reflections and pairs well with both light-coloured walls (where the halo contrast is strongest) and darker walls in industrial or moody interiors.

The overlapping disc construction gives the fitting sculptural depth when viewed from an angle. The front ring appears to float in front of the back disc, with the LED glow emerging from the gap between them. At 0.85kg the fitting is light enough to mount on plasterboard walls with appropriate fixings. The non-dimmable LED is rated for 3000K warm white output, sitting between the cooler tones of office lighting and the warmer amber tones of filament bulbs.

The 820lm output at 3000K gives a warm rather than clinical tone, sitting well with relaxed evening settings. The single integrated LED removes any need to source replacement bulbs over the fitting's service life.

No. The integrated LED operates at a fixed 10W output and is not compatible with dimmer switches. The fitting provides 820 lumens at 3000K when powered on.

What sort of light does it give?

The LED sits behind the front disc and projects a halo of light onto the wall around the fitting, creating an ambient wash effect. It does not throw light forward into the room or downward as a task light would.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The Toronto is designed for dry indoor locations. It is not suitable for bathroom zones where water splash or steam exposure is expected.

What wall colour works best with the halo effect?

The warm halo is most visible on light-coloured walls (white, pale grey, cream) where the 3000K glow contrasts strongly. On darker walls the halo is subtler but the matt black disc itself becomes the visual feature.
