Description

The Torch Vertical is a 50mm diameter cylindrical pendant light housing an integrated 11W LED that delivers 900 lumens at 3000K through a sand white acrylic diffuser. The pendant extends vertically from a compact ceiling canopy on a cable that adjusts between 750mm and 2000mm drop on installation, allowing it to be set at a precise height above kitchen worktops, dining tables or hallway floors.

Designed for contemporary interiors where directional downlight is needed without visual bulk, the Torch Vertical works as a single fitting over a breakfast bar or console table, or in multiples aligned over a kitchen island or dining table at 600-800mm spacing. The 120-degree beam angle spreads light downwards and outwards in a controlled cone rather than scattering it omnidirectionally, concentrating illumination where it is needed. The slim 50mm profile creates minimal visual interruption against walls or in open-plan spaces.

The sand white acrylic diffuser softens the LED point source while maintaining the 900lm output, enough for task lighting over food preparation areas or ambient light for a 2-3m dining table when used in pairs or trios. The finish is a neutral off-white that pairs with white, grey and warm timber interiors without creating stark contrast. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and non-replaceable, rated for 3000K warm white output on 230V mains.

The non-dimmable LED runs at a fixed 900lm, and the compact 50mm form keeps the fitting unobtrusive when grouped over a longer worktop or run of table. The 3 year warranty covers the integrated LED, which needs no bulb changes across its service life.

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and operates at full 900lm output when powered on 230V mains.

What drop height is best for a kitchen island?

For a kitchen island or worktop, set the pendant 700-900mm above the surface. The 2000mm maximum cable length accommodates ceiling heights up to 2.7-2.9m when the pendant is set at typical island height. Lower ceilings may require shortening the cable during installation.

Can the LED be replaced?

No. The LED is integrated into the pendant body and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for a typical 25,000-30,000 hour lifespan, equivalent to approximately 10-15 years of domestic use at 5-6 hours per day.

How many pendants are needed for a 2.4m kitchen island?

Two or three Torch Vertical pendants spaced 600-800mm apart provide even task lighting over a 2.4m island. The 900lm output per pendant is sufficient for food preparation tasks when the pendants are positioned 700-800mm above the worktop.
