Description

The Torch is a 476mm vertical LED wall light combining a 6W upward-facing ambient light with a 3W directional reading light housed in a single sand black metal frame. The main body is a narrow cylindrical tube with an acrylic diffuser running its length, emitting 274lm at 3000K through a 120° beam angle. At the base of the upright, a small adjustable head provides focused downward light for reading or close task work.

Designed for bedside positions, hallway walls, and lounge areas where both ambient and task lighting are needed from a single fitting, the Torch mounts on a rectangular backplate measuring 70mm wide and projects 93mm from the wall. The dual-function design means one fitting can replace both a general wall light and a separate reading lamp, reducing visual clutter in bedrooms and beside armchairs. The sand black finish is a textured matt coating over metal, absorbing rather than reflecting ambient light.

The integrated LEDs are non-dimmable and run on 220-240V mains without requiring an external driver box visible on the wall. The narrow 70mm width suits tight spaces such as beside headboards or in narrow hallways where a wider wall light would intrude into circulation space. At 0.8kg the fitting is light enough to mount on most internal wall constructions including plasterboard with appropriate fixings. The 3-year warranty covers the LED modules and metalwork against manufacturing defects.

The 120° beam spreads the ambient output widely across the wall, giving even coverage rather than a concentrated hotspot, while the reading head keeps task light focused where it is needed.

Is the reading light adjustable?

Yes. The 3W directional light at the base of the upright can be angled to direct light downward onto a book or surface. The main 6W uplight is fixed and emits light through the full length of the acrylic diffuser.

Can this be used as a bedside light?

Yes. The Torch is designed for bedside installation, providing ambient uplight for general room illumination and a focused reading light for evening reading without needing a separate table lamp. The 476mm height places the reading light at a useful angle when mounted at typical bedhead height.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and runs at full output when switched on. If dimming is required, an alternative model or external smart switch would be needed.

What wall fixing is needed?

The 70mm x 93mm backplate requires two fixing points. On solid walls, standard wall plugs and screws are sufficient. On plasterboard, use plasterboard anchors or cavity fixings rated for at least 1kg to ensure secure mounting.
