The Tonvorne 3 Light Spotlight Bar is a black ceiling light with three adjustable spotlights on a slim steel bar. Each cylindrical shade is black fabric with a band of small cross-shaped perforations near the rim and a gold lining, so the light glints through the pattern as well as spilling from the open end of each shade. Overall it is 57.5cm long, 9cm wide and 24cm in height. Each shade takes an E27 bulb of up to 28W, and the bulbs are not included. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

It suits a living room, dining room, hallway, bedroom or study, anywhere a single central light leaves corners dim. Because each head angles on its own, you can turn one towards a bookcase, one towards a picture and one down over a chair or a desk, putting light where you need it rather than in a single pool. The black and gold shades sit well with dark painted walls, warm wood and brass accents, and on a pale ceiling the bar reads as a crisp black line. For a long, narrow room or a corridor, the bar lines up with the walls and spreads light along the space.

The body is steel, which is strong and keeps its shape, and the shades are fabric with a gold lining inside. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, like most ceiling lights, and runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains. As a wired-in mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, it weighs 1.946KG.
