Description

The Tonic is a 98mm diameter cylindrical glass pendant light with a bronze metallic finish and a GX53 lampholder rated for 4000K cool white LED lamps. The glass cylinder reflects and diffuses light downwards and outwards through the bronze-tinted surface, creating a warm metallic glow even when the lamp inside runs at a cooler colour temperature. The 2000mm cable drop is adjustable on installation.

Designed as task or accent lighting rather than primary ambient light, the Tonic suits kitchen islands, breakfast bars, office desks and hallway zones where focused downlight is needed at a specific height. The compact 98mm diameter allows multiple units to be spaced 300-400mm apart over a long island or worktop without visual crowding. The pendant accepts any GX53 LED lamp (sold separately) and is dimmable when paired with a compatible GX53-rated dimmer.

The bronze finish is applied to the glass itself rather than an external metal sleeve, so the colour appears translucent when lit and reflective when off. The effect pairs well with brass, copper and warm-toned wood finishes in both modern and classical interiors. The 0.83kg weight fits standard UK ceiling roses without additional support. The Tonic range is made in Spain.

The 2000mm cable can be shortened at installation to set the head at counter or table height. The single GX53 socket takes one lamp only, so the choice of disc lamp determines the final brightness and dimming behaviour. A trailing-edge dimmer rated for GX53 LED lamps gives smooth control from full output down to a low ambient level, provided both lamp and dimmer confirm compatibility.

Does the lamp come with a GX53 bulb?

No. The fitting accepts any GX53 LED lamp up to the wattage rating of the lampholder. GX53 lamps are sold separately. We suggest pairing this with a 6-9W GX53 LED at 4000K to match the rated colour temperature.

Is the Tonic dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable GX53 LED lamp and pair it with a dimmer switch rated for LED GX53 loads. Not all GX53 lamps are dimmable, so check the lamp specification before pairing with a dimmer.

What's the difference between 4000K and 3000K?

4000K is a cool white colour temperature that appears neutral to slightly blue-white, similar to daylight. 3000K is warm white, closer to traditional halogen or incandescent tone. The 4000K suits task lighting in kitchens and offices; 3000K suits dining and living spaces.

Can multiple Tonic pendants be grouped over a kitchen island?

Yes. The 98mm diameter allows units to be spaced 300-400mm apart over a worktop without overlapping visually. Most kitchen islands between 1500-2000mm long suit three Tonic pendants spaced evenly.
