The Tokio is a 1620mm floor lamp built around four stacked cube-shaped shades of laser-cut acrylic in gloss white, held between twin polished chrome uprights on a square chrome base. Each cube contains a single G9 bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately), and the laser-cut pattern on the acrylic refracts light through geometric apertures, casting angular shadows onto nearby walls and ceilings.

Designed as both task and decorative lighting for living rooms, open-plan sitting areas and bedroom corners, the Tokio delivers ambient rather than directional light. The four bulbs combine to illuminate the room without a single focused pool, making the lamp suitable for spaces where overhead lighting exists but additional height and presence are needed. The 250mm x 250mm footprint fits into corners and alongside sofas without dominating floor space, while the 1620mm height brings the top shade into the upper third of a typical 2.4m ceiling.

The gloss white finish on the acrylic shades gives a high-contrast edge against the polished chrome frame, and the combined weight of 12kg keeps the lamp stable on carpets and hard floors without needing to be anchored. The laser-cut acrylic pattern varies between shades depending on manufacturing batch, so no two Tokio lamps cast identical shadow patterns when lit. Dimming is supported when paired with dimmable G9 LED or halogen bulbs and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer.

The 2700K output sits at the warm end of the range, giving a soft yellow tone suited to relaxed evening use rather than task-focused work. Choosing 3000K bulbs instead lifts the tone slightly for a brighter feel, and all 4 shades draw from the G9 sockets.

What bulbs does the Tokio take?

The lamp takes four G9 bulbs (sold separately). G9 bulbs are available in LED and halogen variants. We suggest pairing this with 3-5W LED G9 bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient lighting without excessive heat or energy use.

Is the Tokio dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable G9 bulbs and pair the lamp with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer. The lamp itself has no built-in dimmer mechanism. Dimming depends entirely on the bulbs and the wall dimmer or plug-in dimmer used.

How much light does it produce?

That depends on the bulbs installed. Four 5W LED G9 bulbs typically produce around 1,600-2,000 lumens combined, which provides ambient room lighting rather than focused task light. The laser-cut acrylic diffuses the light across multiple directions.

Is the acrylic easy to clean?

The gloss white acrylic can be wiped with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth with water is acceptable, but avoid sprays, polishes or abrasive materials that may scratch the high-gloss surface or dull the chrome uprights.
