The Tokio is a 1-light semi-flush ceiling light built around a laser-cut black acrylic cage that wraps a central crystal glass shade housing a single G9 bulb (sold separately). The polished chrome ceiling canopy sits 200mm below the ceiling surface, making this a suitable fitting for rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights where a full pendant would sit too low.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and contemporary dining spaces, the Tokio casts both direct light through the crystal centre and diffused shadow patterns through the geometric cutwork of the black acrylic cage. The shadows shift across walls and ceilings as ambient light changes throughout the day. The 130mm square footprint of the cage keeps the visual scale contained, so it works in smaller rooms without dominating the ceiling plane.

The black acrylic panels are laser-cut into an angular interlocking pattern, with each layer offset to create depth. The crystal glass shade at the centre refracts light through faceted surfaces, adding sparkle against the matte black framework. The polished chrome canopy and internal fittings provide metallic contrast without overwhelming the monochrome palette. The entire fitting weighs 0.7kg, light enough to mount onto standard plasterboard ceilings with the correct fixings.

How is the black cage cleaned?
