A storage basket, 63cm wide, in pale grey. At 63cm wide it is a little narrower than a standard interior door. Baskets work in multiples more than singly. Two or three of graduated size read as a scheme where a single one reads as an afterthought, and a nested set solves the problem of what to do with them when they are empty.

A cool colour recedes: it makes a piece read as further away and a room as larger, which is why cool tones suit small spaces better than their reputation for coldness suggests. It arrives as a set, which is worth knowing before you plan where it goes: a group needs a run of surface or floor rather than the single spot a lone piece would take. Rattan is a climbing palm, steamed and bent rather than cut and joined, which is why the curves are continuous and the whole piece weighs so little. Every length differs slightly in colour, so no two pieces match exactly. Supplied as a set of 4.

Handles matter far more than they look. A basket without them cannot be moved when it is full, which is exactly the moment you want to move it, and a handle that is woven in outlasts one that is stitched on.

Dusting is all it asks for, with a damp cloth on the finish and nothing solvent or abrasive.
