Description

The Thea Square is a 550mm LED suspension light built around a square aluminium frame with a frosted acrylic diffuser panel, suspended on four fine cables from a satin aluminium ceiling plate. The integrated LED array delivers 2520 lumens at 3000K warm white through the frosted acrylic, which acts as a full-surface diffuser to eliminate hotspots and glare.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and meeting rooms where centred overhead light is needed, the Thea Square provides even downward illumination across a 2-3m table or worktop. The 1070mm maximum drop allows the fitting to be set 700-900mm above a surface in standard ceiling height rooms. The square footprint suits square and rectangular tables better than circular pendants, and the four-cable suspension keeps the frame stable and level once installed.

The satin aluminium finish provides a softer metallic tone than polished chrome, reducing reflections and pairing well with brushed stainless steel appliances, grey cabinetry and contemporary joinery. The frosted acrylic diffuser hides the LED circuit board inside the frame, so the light appears to come from the entire square surface rather than individual points. At 2.3kg the fitting has enough weight to hang stably without swaying, but is light enough for ceiling joists in modern construction.

The Thea is part of Mantra's Spanish-designed architectural lighting collection, which focuses on geometric forms and integrated LED efficiency. The non-dimmable LED runs at 28W total power consumption, providing task-level brightness for work surfaces and dining without requiring separate dimming circuits.

No. The integrated LED runs at a fixed 2520 lumen output and is not compatible with dimmer switches. If dimmable overhead lighting is required, consider pairing the Thea with a separate dimmable circuit for additional ambient fittings.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1070mm maximum drop allows the fitting to be installed 700-900mm above a dining table or kitchen island in rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings. For lower ceilings the drop can be shortened to the 250mm minimum, bringing the fitting closer to the ceiling rose.

What size table does it suit?

The 550mm square footprint and 2520 lumen output suit tables or islands between 1.8m and 2.5m in length. For larger tables or wider islands, consider installing two Thea Square fittings in a row, spaced 1.2-1.5m apart.

Can the LED be replaced?

The LED array is integrated into the frame and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of operation, which is roughly 10 years at 8 hours per day. At end of life the entire fitting would need replacing.
