Description

The Teva is a single-bulb wall light built around a sculptural polished nickel bracket with geometric faceted sections above and below a white shantung silk shade. The bracket references the balance beam of vintage scales, with faceted metal elements mirrored above and below the central 292mm-square fabric shade. The shade diffuses light from a single E27 bulb (sold separately) across the full 765mm height of the fitting.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms and living room accent lighting, the Teva provides directed ambient light without occupying floor space. The 121mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting clear of door swings and circulation routes, while the vertical emphasis of the 765mm height suits walls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The polished nickel finish reflects surrounding light, adding brightness to the wall area around the fitting even when the bulb is switched off.

The steel frame carries the weight of the shade and bulb without flex, and the polished nickel finish is applied over the steel substrate to provide a durable metallic surface. The white shantung silk shade has a visible weave texture that softens the light output and prevents harsh shadows on the wall behind. The geometric faceting of the metal bracket gives the fitting visual presence without relying on ornament or curves, pairing comfortably with both mid-century and contemporary interiors.

What bulb does it take?

The Teva takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to complement the white shantung silk shade.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you choose. LED bulbs marked as dimmable will work with most UK trailing-edge dimmers. The fitting itself has no electronic components that would prevent dimming.

What wall surface is needed?

The fitting requires a solid fixing into either a masonry wall (with appropriate wall plugs) or a stud wall where the bracket can be screwed into timber studs or a batten. The steel frame and shade assembly weigh approximately 1.5kg.

Can the shade be cleaned?

The shantung silk shade can be dusted gently with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush attachment on low vacuum power. Avoid water or cleaning sprays, as they may mark the fabric or cause shrinkage.
