Telford Pendant Light - Gold Wire Cage with White Glass Globe

The Telford is a pendant light built around a 20cm white frosted glass globe enclosed by a vertical gold wire cage frame. The cage is formed from approximately sixteen thin metal ribs that run from a gold ceiling canopy down to a lower ring below the glass, creating a birdcage-like structure. The frosted globe sits inside the lower half of this frame, with an E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) inside the glass.

Designed for kitchens, dining areas and entrance halls with ceiling heights between 2.6-3.5m, the Telford provides diffused ambient light through the frosted glass while the wire cage adds architectural interest without blocking the light output. The drop is adjustable between 59.5cm and 176cm on installation, allowing the pendant to be positioned over breakfast bars, dining tables or in double-height hallways depending on ceiling height. The IP20 rating limits it to dry indoor use only.

The gold finish on the wire frame is a warm metallic tone that sits between brushed brass and antique brass, with a slight satin quality rather than high polish. The white glass diffuses the light from the 60W-maximum E27 bulb evenly in all directions, while the wire ribs cast fine vertical shadow lines onto nearby walls when the pendant is lit. The combination of metal framework and glass globe gives the fitting a lighter visual presence than a solid metal pendant of the same size, making it suitable for rooms where a 20cm pendant might otherwise feel too heavy.

What bulb does it take?

The Telford takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining or kitchen lighting.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The adjustable drop of 59.5-176cm makes the Telford suitable for ceiling heights between 2.6-3.5m. For a dining table, the pendant typically hangs 70-80cm above the surface. For entrance halls or double-height spaces, the full 176cm drop can be used.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Telford is only suitable for dry indoor locations. It cannot be used in bathrooms, outdoor areas under cover, or any space where moisture is present.

How is the globe cleaned?

The frosted glass globe can be wiped with a soft, damp microfibre cloth. The gold wire cage can be dusted with a dry cloth. Switch off the power and allow the bulb to cool before cleaning.
