Description

This white stoneware mug is a cheerful salute to the people who spend their days at the front of a classroom. On one side it reads 'TEACHER' in bold red capitals, with 'LEADER OF TINY HUMANS' lettered beneath in black between two small stars, finished with a little red apple. The ceramic body is white with a gloss finish, so the lettering stands out clearly. It holds 11oz and stands 9.5cm tall and 8.5cm deep, a classic everyday size for a morning tea, a mid-morning coffee or a hot chocolate at the end of a long day.

We think it makes a lovely gift for a teacher, whether they look after a reception class, a lively primary year group or a nursery room full of little ones. It is the kind of present that earns its place every day: in the staff room between lessons, on the desk during a marking session, or at home on a quiet weekend morning. The hand-lettered style keeps it warm and friendly rather than formal, and the wording is sure to raise a smile from anyone who spends their working hours guiding young children. Give it on its own or tuck it into a bag with a card from the class.

The mug is made from stoneware, a type of ceramic, with a smooth gloss finish and a rounded loop handle. It is white inside and out, which makes it easy to judge the strength of a brew at a glance. As general good practice, we suggest washing it by hand in warm soapy water and drying it with a soft cloth, which helps keep the printed lettering crisp over time. For a finishing touch, fill it with a packet of good tea, coffee or a few sweets, wrap it in tissue and add a handwritten note.
