Description

The Tau is an 84cm LED wall light built around a curved flexible silicone neon diffuser that arcs from a gold aluminium circular backplate. An integrated 13W LED strip runs inside the silicone tube, casting warm 3000K light through the diffuser in a smooth, continuous line. The gold aluminium backplate and vertical mounting rod provide structural support while the silicone tube bends in a sculptural curve that projects approximately 16.7cm from the wall.

Designed for accent lighting in hallways, stairwells, bedrooms and living rooms, the Tau provides decorative wash light rather than task illumination. The curved form works well on narrow walls between doorways, flanking mirrors, or as a vertical accent on feature walls. The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor areas — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use. The 13cm diameter circular backplate requires a standard UK wall fixing and the fitting is powered from mains 220-240V AC with no external driver visible.

The silicone diffuser is reinforced with high-strength tubing to resist yellowing and maintain flexibility over the 3-year warranty period. The gold finish on the aluminium components is a warm metallic tone that pairs with brass fixtures, oak timber and warm-toned interiors. The black accent detail visible in the mounting assembly contrasts with the gold to define the structural components. No. The LED strip is integrated into the silicone neon diffuser and cannot be replaced separately. The fitting is designed as a complete sealed unit with a 3-year warranty covering the LED performance.

Can the Tau be installed horizontally?

The design is intended for vertical installation with the curve projecting from the wall. Horizontal mounting is physically possible but would alter the visual proportions and may affect the structural integrity of the silicone tube over time.

Does the silicone diffuser yellow over time?

The silicone is UV-stabilised and reinforced to resist yellowing. In indoor IP20 environments away from direct sunlight and heat sources, the diffuser should maintain clarity throughout the warranty period.

What wall colour works best behind the Tau?

The warm 3000K light suits neutral and warm-toned walls (whites, creams, soft greys, warm beiges). On darker walls the light reads as a brighter accent; on lighter walls it provides subtle wash lighting with the sculptural form taking visual priority.
