Description

The Talvera P is a round recessed LED downlight in black cast aluminium, so once it is fitted only the neat black trim ring shows on the ceiling. It gives a warm white light of 3000K from an integrated LED, framed by a faceted clear glass shade inside a tilting inner ring. The downlight is 7.5cm across and 5.5cm high, and it needs a hole of 6.6 to 6.8cm cut into the ceiling with 6.5cm of depth clear behind it. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms, and never near a shower, a bath or anywhere it could get wet.

We would fit a run of these in a kitchen, a hallway, a living room or a home office, anywhere you want an uncluttered ceiling and light placed where it is needed. The black finish gives a crisp outline against a white ceiling and sits naturally in a dark or modern scheme. Because the inner ring tilts, you can angle the beam to wash light across a feature wall, pick out shelving or bring a glow to a favourite reading chair. Warm white at 3000K feels relaxed and homely, which suits living spaces and evenings at home.

The body is cast aluminium, a metal that is light and rigid, and the whole downlight weighs 0.12KG. Spring clips on either side hold it in the ceiling cut-out. The LEDs are replaceable, so when they need changing, they can be renewed without replacing the whole downlight. It has no switch of its own and is switched at the wall, so it is turned on and off from a wall switch. We recommend it is fitted by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a PDF download.
