Description

The Taiko is a 400mm diameter chandelier combining a sculptural metal cluster in olde bronze with a neutral linen drum shade. The metal frame below the shade is built from angular branches arranged in an asymmetric lattice, creating visual depth and casting interesting shadows when lit. Three E27 bulb holders sit within the cluster, each accepting bulbs up to 60W (sold separately).

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Taiko works well over a dining table or in a hallway where the sculptural metalwork can be appreciated from multiple angles. The drop is adjustable from 364mm to 1264mm on installation, allowing the chandelier to be set at an appropriate height for the specific room. The linen shade diffuses light upwards and downwards while the bronze metalwork adds decorative interest below.

The olde bronze finish is darker and more tonal than polished bronze, with a subtle aged patina that softens reflections and pairs with both traditional and contemporary interiors. The linen shade provides a neutral textile element that balances the metal structure. What bulbs does the Taiko take?

The chandelier has three E27 (Edison screw) fittings, each accepting bulbs up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining and living spaces.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop ranges from 364mm minimum to 1264mm maximum. For a dining table, the chandelier typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The minimum drop configuration suits rooms with lower ceilings or where the fitting is positioned away from a table.

Can the drop be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by adjusting the chain or rod length. Once fitted, changing the drop requires removing the chandelier from the ceiling rose and re-threading the cable through the suspension system.

How is the linen shade cleaned?

Use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the linen shade, or gently wipe with a dry microfibre cloth. Avoid water or cleaning sprays, as these can stain or discolour the fabric.
