Description

The Symphonia 10 is a 132cm linear pendant built around a rectangular canopy that supports tiered loops of fine brass chain, falling away in a fringed veil beneath the frame. Ten integrated 4.5W 3000K LED modules sit within the structure and cast warm light through the layered chain, picking out the metalwork in the gold finish and throwing soft pinpoint highlights across the chain ends.

The horizontal format suits long dining tables, kitchen islands of 2.4m or more, hotel reception desks and bar counters where a single round pendant would look undersized. At 78cm tall, the pendant is intended for rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or higher so the chain fringe sits well above seated head height. Four suspension cables drop from the ceiling to balance the 36.5kg weight across the canopy.

Each tier of chain is graded in length so the lower edge of the veil reads as a soft curve rather than a flat line, and the chains move slightly with air currents, which keeps the surface alive under the LED light. The brass chain catches reflections from surrounding lighting as well as its own, so the fitting reads differently from each seated position around a table. The gold tone pairs cleanly with darker timbers, polished concrete, marble and deeper upholstery fabrics.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting itself is 78cm tall and supplied with 150cm suspension cables, which can be shortened on installation. As a guide, ceiling heights of 3m or more allow the chain fringe to hang above seated head height over a dining table. Lower ceilings are possible if the cables are shortened and the pendant hangs over a table rather than a walkway.

Are the LEDs replaceable?

Yes. The ten 4.5W 3000K LED modules are built-in but replaceable, so the fitting does not need to be discarded at the end of the LED lifespan. Replacement modules are sourced through the manufacturer.

How is it installed given the weight?

At 36.5kg the pendant is heavy and must be fixed to a ceiling structure rated to carry the load, with the four suspension cables sharing the weight evenly across the canopy. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician and, where needed, in consultation with a structural engineer for the ceiling fixing.

What size table does it suit?

The 132cm length pairs well with dining tables and kitchen islands of around 2.0-2.8m long. Over shorter tables the pendant will overhang the ends; over longer tables a pair of round pendants or a longer linear fitting may be a better fit.
