Description

The Swell is an 813mm-wide polished chrome bathroom wall light carrying four frosted white glass shades on a horizontal bar. Each shade houses a G9 LED bulb (four 3W 3000K LEDs included), producing 12W total output across the fitting. The IP44 rating allows the fixture to be fitted in bathroom zone 2, where it is not directly exposed to water jets but may encounter steam and splashes.

Designed for above-mirror placement in bathrooms with wide vanity units, the Swell provides frontal task lighting across a typical 900-1100mm mirror. The four frosted glass bell shades diffuse the light evenly, reducing harsh shadows and glare when standing at the sink. The 171mm projection from the wall positions the light source forward of the mirror plane, delivering illumination onto faces rather than reflecting back off the glass. The 237mm height suits installation 1600-1700mm above floor level, placing the light at eye height for most users.

The polished chrome finish is durable in damp environments and pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and other bathroom fittings. The frosted glass shades are removable for cleaning, and the G9 LED bulbs are user-replaceable. Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes the Swell suitable for bathroom zone 2, typically above a mirror at least 600mm from a shower or bath. It is not rated for direct shower spray (zone 1) or inside an enclosed shower cubicle (zone 0).

Do the bulbs need to be replaced?

The fitting includes four 3W G9 LED bulbs at 3000K. These are user-replaceable if they fail, but LED bulbs typically last 15,000-25,000 hours — around 10-15 years of typical bathroom use. Replacement G9 LEDs are widely available.

What size mirror does this suit?

The 813mm width pairs well with bathroom mirrors 900-1200mm wide, typically found above double-sink vanities or wider single-sink units. For narrower mirrors, consider the 2-light or 3-light versions of the Swell range.

How is the glass cleaned?

The frosted glass shades unscrew from the base. Once removed, they can be wiped with a damp cloth and dried before re-fitting. The polished chrome bar can be cleaned with a soft cloth and water — avoid abrasive cleaners that scratch chrome finishes.
