Description

The Supersymmetry is an 88.6cm LED pendant light built from a matt black aluminium cylinder housing an integrated 17W 4000K LED strip. The cylinder is held in position by magnetic connectors on a vertical suspension rod, allowing the cylinder to be rotated and repositioned along the rod's length during installation to direct light where needed. The narrow 4cm diameter profile gives the pendant a linear rather than bulky presence when viewed from below.

Designed for task lighting over kitchen islands, dining tables and desks, the Supersymmetry casts a directional beam along the length of the cylinder rather than omnidirectional ambient light. The 4000K colour temperature sits in the neutral white range, cooler than warm white but warmer than clinical daylight, making it suited to workspaces and food preparation areas where colour accuracy matters. The CRI of 80 provides reasonable colour rendering for most residential and office applications. The light is non-dimmable and runs on standard 220-240V AC mains.

The matt black aluminium construction with plastic end caps keeps the total weight manageable while providing heat dissipation for the LED strip. The IP20 rating limits the pendant to dry indoor environments only — not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use, or damp locations. The magnetic mounting system means the cylinder can be removed from the rod for cleaning or bulb access without rewiring, though the LED itself is integrated and non-replaceable. No. The integrated 17W LED runs at a fixed output and is not compatible with dimmer switches.

Can the cylinder be repositioned after installation?

Yes. The magnetic connectors allow the cylinder to rotate and slide along the suspension rod, so you can adjust the angle and position of the light beam without rewiring. This adjustment is done during or shortly after installation rather than as a daily-use feature.

What does 4000K colour temperature look like?

4000K is neutral white, sitting between warm white (2700K-3000K) and cool daylight (5000K+). It appears clean and bright without the yellow tone of warm white or the blue-grey cast of daylight bulbs, making it common in kitchens, offices and task lighting.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is only suitable for dry indoor locations. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher ratings depending on the zone.
