The Suardi is a rectangular metal wall decoration in black and gold, 88cm wide, 46cm high and 7cm deep. It is built in layers: a black outer panel with rounded corners carries fine ridges that radiate out from the centre, and its glossy surface catches grey highlights as the light moves across it. On top sits a smaller raised panel in gold, rippled with the same sunburst texture, and at its heart a smooth gold block stands proud of the rest.
