Description

The Stockholm is a 490mm-tall outdoor bollard built from galvanised steel with a black powder-coated finish and a frosted glass diffuser surrounded by three horizontal metal bands. An E27 bulb fitting inside the glass cylinder (bulb sold separately) casts light downwards onto pathways and horizontally through the gaps between the bands, creating both functional ground illumination and ambient side glow.

Designed for garden pathways, driveways and property borders, the Stockholm provides visibility for safe navigation after dark without overlighting. The 490mm height positions the light source at mid-shin level for adults, keeping direct glare below eye level while illuminating approximately 1-2m of path width per unit depending on bulb choice. The IP65 rating protects internal components from water jets and dust ingress, making the bollard suitable for exposed positions including coastal locations with salt-spray exposure.

The galvanised steel construction with powder coating resists corrosion in wet and salt-laden environments. The three-band cage design around the glass diffuser provides impact protection for the cylinder while maintaining 360° horizontal light distribution. The black finish pairs neutrally with most garden colour schemes and contemporary or traditional architectural styles. The bollard is supplied with a 5-year manufacturer guarantee covering all UK zones with no coastal exclusion.

Frequently Asked

What bulb should I use?

The Stockholm takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. For pathway lighting, a warm-white LED between 5-10W and 2700K-3000K provides sufficient light without over-brightness. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is it suitable for coastal locations?

Yes. The galvanised steel construction with powder coating is coastal-rated, and Norlys provides a 5-year guarantee covering all UK zones with no coastal exclusion. The IP65 rating protects against salt spray and rain ingress.

How is it installed?

The bollard requires a ground-level electrical connection fed through conduit to the base. It can be surface-mounted onto a concrete pad or paved surface, or set into the ground with the base buried. Professional installation by a qualified outdoor electrician is recommended.

How much pathway does one bollard light?

One bollard typically illuminates 1-2m of path width, depending on bulb brightness and ambient conditions. For continuous pathway lighting, space bollards 3-4m apart on alternating sides or 2-3m apart on one side.
