Description
The Stephen is a single-light Tiffany wall light with a pyramidal stained glass shade in amber, bisque and earthy green tones, mounted on a vintage bronze back plate and bracket. The shade uses geometric panels inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie School designs, with a mix of transparent, translucent and textured glass pieces that create warm colour variation when lit. The shade sits on a downward-angled bracket that projects 267mm from the wall, holding a single E27 bulb inside (sold separately).
Designed for hallways, living rooms, dining rooms and bedroom feature walls where accent lighting and decorative presence matter more than high lumen output, the Stephen casts patterned light through the coloured glass panels rather than providing broad ambient illumination. The 203mm-wide shade suits wall heights of 2m or above and pairs well with Arts & Crafts, traditional, and eclectic interiors where period detail is valued. The vintage bronze finish on the metalwork has a warm, slightly aged appearance that complements the earth tones in the glass.
Each shade is hand-assembled from individual cut glass pieces using copper foil and solder, following traditional Tiffany methods. This means slight variation in the exact placement and tone of glass pieces between individual fittings. The combination of metal frame, glass shade and internal bulb gives the fitting a weight of approximately 1.2kg, requiring secure fixing into masonry or a wall stud rather than plasterboard alone. The E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or decorative filament bulbs up to 60W, allowing control over colour temperature and brightness to suit the room.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Stephen uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W, sold separately. Most users pair Tiffany shades with warm-white LED bulbs between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to bring out the amber and bisque tones in the glass.
Can it be dimmed?
Dimming depends on the bulb you choose. If you fit a dimmable LED or halogen bulb and wire the light through a compatible dimmer switch, the Stephen can be dimmed. The fitting itself has no built-in dimming restriction.
How is the shade cleaned?
Wipe the glass gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the copper foil seams or using household sprays, as these can degrade the solder and patina over time.
Does each shade look identical?
No. Each shade is hand-assembled from individual cut glass pieces, so the exact placement and tonal variation of the amber, bisque and green glass differs slightly between fittings. This is a feature of traditional Tiffany construction, not a defect.
