Description
The Starlux is a 35cm outdoor LED bollard light with an integrated 8.5W 3000K LED housed inside a die-cast aluminium body finished in anthracite powder coating. The square-profile column has clear tempered glass panels at the head, allowing the LED module to cast downward light onto pathways, driveways, garden borders and patios. The IP65 rating protects the internal components from rain, dust and moisture, making the fitting suitable for year-round outdoor installation.
Designed for pathway marking, garden lighting and driveway edges, the 35cm height positions the light source low enough to illuminate ground-level surfaces without glare at eye level. The square footprint of 85mm x 85mm allows the bollard to be positioned tight to borders or spaced at regular intervals along a path run. The die-cast aluminium base gives stability on soft ground when spiked or mounted onto a concrete footing, and the powder-coated finish resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments.
The anthracite finish is a dark grey-black that sits neutrally in both contemporary and traditional garden schemes, blending with stone paving, gravel and dark timber decking. The integrated LED cannot be replaced, but at 8.5W and 3000K the fitting provides warm white light equivalent to a traditional 60W bulb output concentrated downward through the glass diffuser. The compact 35cm height makes this the shorter option in the Starlux range, suitable for low-level illumination where taller bollards would obstruct sightlines or dominate smaller garden layouts.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP65 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP65 means the fitting is fully dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. It will withstand heavy rain, garden hose spray and high-humidity conditions, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in the UK climate.
Can the LED be replaced when it fails?
No. The 8.5W LED module is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced by the end user. LED modules typically last 25,000-50,000 hours, which equates to 15-30 years of typical evening-only use in a domestic garden.
How is it installed?
The bollard can be spike-mounted into soft ground using an optional ground spike accessory, or surface-mounted onto a concrete footing using the base plate. The electrical connection must be made by a qualified electrician to comply with Part P Building Regulations.
What spacing is recommended for pathway lighting?
For continuous pathway illumination, position bollards 3-4 metres apart. For accent lighting or driveway marking, 5-6 metre spacing is typical. The 35cm height and downward light distribution mean closer spacing is needed compared to taller bollards.
