Description

This standing rabbit trinket box is made of metal and shaped as a rabbit up on its hind legs, front paws tucked neatly to its chest and long ears raised. Its coat is a warm brown, textured to suggest soft fur, with a white muzzle, chest and feet, little black eyes and a fine gold-coloured edging along the base and around the opening. Rows of small clear sparkling stones trim the inside of the ears, dot the white chest like a necklace and run along the edge of the lid, catching the light as you pass. It stands 7.9cm tall, 4.4cm wide and 3.3cm deep, small enough to sit in the palm of your hand.

At that size it suits a dressing table, a bedside table or a bookshelf, where a little detail is welcome without taking up much room. The whole upper body lifts back on a hinge to reveal a small hollow in the base. It is just right for a ring, a pair of stud earrings or a tiny keepsake you would hate to lose in the bottom of a drawer. Closed, it works just as well on a desk or a mantelpiece as a cheerful ornament in its own right.

The box is made from metal, with the hinge set at the back so the top swings open and settles neatly back into place. A gold-coloured rim around the opening frames the white interior and gives the join a tidy line when the box is shut. To keep the colours and the sparkle at their best, dust it with a soft dry cloth and avoid soaking it or using harsh cleaners. As a gift it needs little more than tissue paper and a ribbon, and there is room inside to tuck a small surprise for the person who opens it.

Frequently Asked

How big is the rabbit trinket box?

It stands 7.9cm tall, 4.4cm wide and 3.3cm deep, so it is a small piece that sits comfortably on a dressing table, bedside table or shelf.

How does the trinket box open?

The upper body of the rabbit lifts back on a hinge at the back. It opens to a small hollow in the base with a white interior, then closes neatly back into place.

What is it made of and what colour is it?

It is made from metal in warm brown and white, with a gold-coloured rim and small clear sparkling stones on the ears, the chest and along the edge of the lid.

What can I keep inside it?

The hollow is small, so it suits a ring, a pair of stud earrings, a spare button or a tiny keepsake rather than larger pieces of jewellery.

How should I look after it?

As general good practice, dust it with a soft dry cloth. Avoid soaking it or using harsh cleaners so the colours and the sparkling stones stay bright.

Does it make a good gift?

Yes, it is a charming small gift that needs little wrapping, and there is room inside to hide a ring or a little surprise for the person who opens it.
