Description

A neat white square that sits almost level with the ceiling line, deep enough only to carry the lampholder behind its face. The trim measures 93mm to a side, so it reads as a small bright point rather than a fitting anyone stops to look at. One GU10 lamp does the work, and the lampholder is already fitted, so all it wants is a reflector lamp of your choosing. With so little depth to the housing, the light comes forward cleanly with no deep bezel to crop it.

We reach for these where a line of ceiling lights needs to stay quiet: kitchen ceilings, a hallway with several in a row, a landing, or a wash of light along a chimney breast. The square face sits well in rooms with squared-off joinery and tiled edges, where a circle can look adrift. Lamps up to 12W are accepted, which covers any LED reflector you are likely to buy, and dimming works so long as the lamp is a dimmable type and you are running it from a dimmer. Keep it to dry rooms indoors; a shower room or a covered porch asks for something sealed instead.

The fitting is double insulated, which is worth knowing if you are replacing older gear. It carries a two year warranty. Cleaning asks very little: switch the power off, let the lamp go cold, then run a dry cloth over the white face and around the edge, keeping polishes and scouring pads away from it. We stock the same square outline in black, and a round flush version if the softer shape suits the room better. There are funnel-fronted spotlights in the range too, for light angled off a wall. Lamps are not included.
