Split 6.5cm 1 Light Pendant Light - Black

The Split is a 65mm diameter cylinder pendant light in matt black with a single GU11 bulb fitting and dual light output. The cylindrical body directs the main beam downwards through the open base while a narrow rim at the bottom edge allows a secondary upward light leak, creating a soft halo effect around the lower edge of the pendant when lit.

Designed for kitchen islands, bar counters, hallways and dining areas where focused downward light is needed without completely sealing the bulb inside the shade, the Split's compact 65mm diameter allows it to be grouped in multiples without visual overcrowding. The drop is adjustable between 336mm and 2348mm on installation, giving flexibility to position the pendant 600-900mm above a worktop or counter depending on ceiling height. The pendant accepts any standard GU11 bulb up to the manufacturer's maximum wattage (bulb sold separately).

The matt black finish is a low-sheen powder coat that absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, making the pendant itself recede visually while the light output remains the primary focus. At 0.4kg the pendant is lightweight enough to be supported by standard UK ceiling roses without additional bracing. The cylindrical form measures 65mm in diameter across its full length, maintaining a consistent profile from canopy to base. The dual light output — main beam downwards, rim accent upwards — adds dimension to what would otherwise be a purely task-oriented downlight.

What bulb does the Split take?

The pendant uses a GU11 bulb (sold separately). GU11 is a 2-pin twist-lock base similar to GU10 but with a narrower 11mm pin spacing. Check the bulb compatibility before purchasing — standard GU10 bulbs will not fit this fitting.

Is it dimmable?

No. The pendant is not compatible with dimmer switches. Use a standard on/off switch only.

Can multiple pendants be grouped together?

Yes. The 65mm diameter allows multiple Split pendants to be positioned side-by-side above a kitchen island or bar counter without the shades visually overlapping. Typical spacing is 300-500mm centre-to-centre depending on the length of the surface being lit.

What is the dual light output?

The main light beam projects downwards through the open base of the cylinder. A narrow rim at the bottom edge allows a small amount of light to escape upwards, creating a subtle halo or accent ring around the lower edge of the pendant body when lit.
