Description

The Splash is a 20cm table lamp built around a dome of smoked ombre glass that transitions from dark grey at the base to near-clear at the top, set on a satin gold aluminium plinth. An integrated 9W LED inside the glass dome casts warm 3000K light upwards and outwards, with the gradient glass acting as the diffuser. The darker base section of the glass absorbs more light, creating a soft glow at table level, while the clearer upper section allows more light to escape towards the ceiling.

Designed as accent lighting rather than task lighting, the Splash suits side tables in living rooms, bedside tables in bedrooms, console tables in hallways, and lounge areas where ambient rather than directed light is needed. The 27cm total height keeps the lamp low enough to sit comfortably on a bedside table without blocking sightlines across the room, while the 20cm diameter footprint fits narrow console tables and corner positions. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations only.

The ombre glass is a graduated smoke tint applied during manufacture, so the transition from dark to light runs consistently through the thickness of the glass rather than being a surface coating. This gives the dome a three-dimensional depth when lit, with light scattering differently through each section of the gradient. The satin gold finish on the aluminium base is brushed rather than polished, reducing glare under daylight and pairing the lamp with both warm-toned wood furniture and cooler grey or white interiors. The CRI of 80 renders colours accurately enough for general residential use.

The integrated LED is non-replaceable but rated for 25,000 hours of use, equating to approximately 11 years if run 6 hours per day. The lamp uses a standard UK 3-pin plug and inline cable switch, so no separate wall control or dimmer is needed, though the lamp is not dimmable on standard household dimmers.
