Description

The Spin is a 90mm diameter surface-mounted outdoor LED downlight from Maytoni with an integrated 5W 3000K LED, housed in a white powder-coated metal cylinder with a glass diffuser at the base. The IP54 rating protects the fitting against dust ingress and water spray from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, patios under eaves, and garage door surrounds where the fitting is sheltered from direct rainfall but exposed to damp conditions.

Designed as accent or task lighting rather than area floodlighting, the Spin mounts directly onto external walls or soffits using the concealed fixings behind the 90mm base. The LED module inside the housing rotates through 360°, allowing the beam to be directed downwards onto a doorstep, angled along a pathway, or tilted to graze a wall with light. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm white output that reads as neutral against white-painted render and brick.

The compact 90mm height and diameter keep the fitting visually minimal on brick, render or timber cladding, while the white powder coat matches standard exterior whites without appearing clinical. The glass diffuser at the base spreads the 5W LED output to reduce glare when viewed from below. The fitting runs on AC 110-240V mains, so no external driver is needed, and cable entry is through the rear of the base plate for a clean surface finish once installed.

Can this be used in fully exposed outdoor locations?

The IP54 rating protects against dust and water spray, making it suitable for covered locations like porches, soffits and garage door surrounds. For fully exposed locations subject to direct rainfall and weather, a higher IP65 or IP67 rated fitting is recommended.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 5W LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of operation, equivalent to around 8-10 years of typical evening use.

What angle does the LED rotate through?

The internal LED housing rotates through 360°, allowing the beam to be directed downwards, angled along a wall, or tilted to suit the installation position. The rotation is adjusted manually on installation.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated 5W LED runs at fixed output and is not compatible with dimmer switches or controls.
