Description

The Spin is a 9cm cylindrical surface-mount LED downlight with an integrated 5W 3000K LED, housed in a graphite-finished metal body with a clear glass diffuser at the base. The fitting mounts directly to ceilings, soffits or covered outdoor structures where a recessed downlight cannot be installed, and delivers warm white light downwards through the glass.

Designed for outdoor porches, covered verandas, garage entries and indoor hallways with low ceiling voids, the Spin carries an IP54 rating that protects the internal LED and driver from dust ingress and water splashing from any direction. The 360° rotational mounting allows the light to be angled after installation, so the beam can be directed onto a doorway, a pathway, or a specific feature within the coverage area.

The graphite powder-coated finish on the metal body pairs with contemporary architectural schemes and weathers more gracefully than gloss paint finishes in outdoor conditions. The 5W LED produces approximately 400 lumens at 3000K, which suits applications where soft ambient light or accent lighting is needed rather than high-intensity task lighting. The CRI of 80 renders colours naturally without the washed-out appearance of lower-CRI LEDs.

The fitting accepts AC 110-240V supply, making it compatible with both UK mains voltage and lower-voltage installations in some international markets. The integrated LED is non-replaceable, and the fitting is non-dimmable. Maytoni covers the Spin with a 3-year warranty.

Is the Spin suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions?

The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashing, so the fitting can be mounted under soffits, in covered porches or on sheltered verandas. It is not rated for fully exposed positions where it would receive direct rain or water jets.

Can the light direction be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The fitting rotates 360° on its mounting point, allowing you to angle the downward beam towards a specific area such as a doorway, pathway or wall feature once the fitting is fixed in place.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 5W LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of operation, which translates to around 10 years of typical evening use.

Can it be used on a dimmer switch?

No. The integrated LED driver is not compatible with dimmer circuits. The fitting operates at full 5W output when powered on.
