Spider LED Semi-Flush Ceiling Light 43W 3000K - Matt Grey/Brown

The Spider is a 500mm semi-flush ceiling light built around a woven metal cage that combines matt grey and brown metallic strands in a criss-cross lattice pattern. An integrated 43W LED inside the cage produces 2800lm of warm 3000K light, which filters through the gaps in the lattice to cast geometric shadow patterns onto the ceiling and walls. The metal frame is formed from thin steel rods that cross at multiple points, creating a three-dimensional conical shade that drops 350mm from the ceiling rose.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms, dining areas and entrance halls with standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Spider provides both ambient light and a decorative focal point. The 500mm diameter makes it suitable for rooms of 12-20 square metres, where it can sit centrally without dominating the space. The semi-flush fitting keeps the bulk of the shade close to the ceiling while the lattice structure remains visually light rather than solid, so the fitting does not weigh down low-ceilinged rooms the way an opaque shade would.

The grey and brown dual-tone finish gives the Spider a warmer appearance than single-colour metal cages, with the brown strands adding depth against the cooler brushed grey. The lattice casts a shifting pattern of light and shadow as you move around the room, turning the ceiling plane into part of the decorative effect. At 2kg the fitting is light enough for standard UK ceiling roses and back boxes without needing additional support.

Is the Spider dimmable?

No. The integrated LED runs at a fixed 43W output on 220-240V mains and is not compatible with dimmer switches.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 350mm drop from ceiling to base of the fitting works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In lower-ceilinged rooms the fitting may feel visually close, though the open lattice structure keeps it from appearing as heavy as a solid shade.

What size room does it suit?

The 500mm diameter and 2800lm output suit rooms of approximately 12-20 square metres. Larger open-plan spaces may benefit from pairing the Spider with additional task or floor lighting.

How is the metal frame cleaned?

Switch off at the mains before cleaning. Dust can be removed with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner. For marks on the metal, use a barely-damp cloth with water only — avoid sprays or polishes that may discolour the matt finish.
