Description

The Spider is a 40cm pendant light built from a woven metal wire framework forming a tapered cone shape, finished in matt grey with brown tones on the upper and lower rims. An integrated 20W LED sits within the top assembly and casts 1100 lumens of 3000K warm white light downwards through the open wire structure, creating a pattern of shadow and light on surfaces below.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room side tables, the Spider works in spaces where decorative task lighting is needed rather than broad ambient coverage. The 40cm diameter suits smaller dining tables (4-6 seat) and side table positions in living rooms. The adjustable drop of 470mm to 1970mm allows the pendant to be hung 700-800mm above a dining surface or lower over a side table depending on ceiling height. The matt black ceiling rose fits standard UK ceiling fixings and the cable length is adjustable during installation.

The matt grey finish on the wire framework reduces reflections under daylight while the brown tones on the top and bottom metal rims add warmth and contrast against the grey. The woven wire structure weighs 1.4kg and presents as a geometric cone with radiating lines — the wire spacing allows light to pass through while the density of the weave gives the shade visual presence when unlit. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and runs on standard 220-240V mains.

Is the Spider dimmable?

No. The integrated 20W LED is not compatible with dimmer switches and should be wired directly to a standard on-off switch or ceiling circuit.

What size dining table does it suit?

The 40cm diameter works best over smaller dining tables seating 4-6 people, or as accent lighting over side tables and console tables. For larger dining tables (8+ seats) consider the larger 60cm version from the same Spider range.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by adjusting the cable length within the ceiling rose. Once fitted, the height cannot be changed without accessing the ceiling void and re-terminating the cable.

How is the wire framework cleaned?

Switch off at the mains before cleaning. Use a dry microfibre cloth or soft brush to remove dust from the wire structure. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metalwork and do not use chemical cleaners or polishes on the matt finish.
