Description

The Schuller Sphere is a 3-light LED semi-flush ceiling light with textured polycarbonate globes in three metallic finishes — satin copper, brushed brass and polished chrome — mounted on a chrome metal base. Each globe houses an integrated LED, giving a combined 14.4W output at 3000K warm white. The fixture sits 15cm below the ceiling with a 30cm diameter footprint.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways and low-to-medium ceiling heights where a flush or semi-flush mount is needed, the Sphere works on ceilings from 2.2m upwards. The tri-tone finish combines warm copper and brass tones with cooler chrome, making it adaptable to both warm and neutral colour schemes. The 0-10V dimmable LED driver allows brightness adjustment from full output down to a low ambient glow, controlled via a compatible wall dimmer.

The polycarbonate shades are textured on the interior surface, diffusing the LED point source and creating a soft sparkle effect when lit. The chrome base provides a clean reflective accent that ties the three finishes together visually. At 2.4kg the fitting is heavier than typical plastic semi-flush mounts, giving it a more substantial presence once installed. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas only — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor covered spaces.

Is the Sphere dimmable?

Yes. The integrated LED uses a 0-10V dimming driver, which requires a compatible 0-10V wall dimmer. Standard trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmers will not work with this fixture. Check dimmer compatibility before purchase.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The 15cm drop from ceiling to base of the globes works on ceiling heights from 2.2m upwards. For standard 2.4m UK ceilings the fixture provides adequate headroom clearance in circulation areas and bedrooms.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas only. For bathroom zones you need a fitting rated IP44 or higher.

What's the actual light output?

The specification lists 1lm, which appears to be a data error. A 14.4W LED at 3000K typically outputs around 1,200-1,400 lumens depending on LED efficiency. Contact us for confirmed lumen output if this matters for your installation.
