Description
The Sphere is a 14-light LED cluster pendant from Schuller, suspending fourteen chrome-plated polycarbonate globes of varying sizes from a 60cm circular canopy on adjustable cables. Each globe houses integrated LEDs totalling 78W output at 3000K, delivering 5,502 lumens across the full fixture. The chrome plating on the polycarbonate creates a mirror finish that reflects and refracts the internal LED light, turning each sphere into both a light source and a reflective element.
Designed for double-height entrance halls, stairwells, and dining rooms with ceiling heights from 2.6m upwards, the Sphere cascades vertically through space rather than spreading horizontally. The adjustable cables allow the cluster to be set between 130cm and 300cm total drop depending on ceiling height and the desired visual impact. The canopy sits flush to the ceiling using gravity toggles, hiding the cable entry points and electrical connections. The fixture is dimmable via the supplied TRIAC and 0-10V dimming kit or the included radio-frequency remote, giving flicker-free control without needing to install wall dimmers.
The combined weight of 12kg across fourteen globes and the metal canopy means the ceiling fixing point must be rated for structural load, not just the weight of a typical pendant. The globes themselves are polycarbonate rather than glass, making them lighter and more impact-resistant than equivalent glass cluster pendants. The chrome finish pairs with contemporary, Art Deco-influenced, and modern classical interiors where metallic accents and vertical light features are already present. The 3000K warm white colour temperature sits between neutral white and the warmer 2700K common in residential settings, giving a clean but not clinical light output.

Frequently Asked
What ceiling height is needed?
The minimum drop is 130cm, so a ceiling height of at least 2.6m is required to avoid the lowest globes hanging below head height. The fixture works best in rooms with 3m or higher ceilings where the full cascade effect can be appreciated. The maximum adjustable drop is 300cm.
How is it dimmed?
The fixture includes both a TRIAC/0-10V dimming kit and a radio-frequency remote control. You can dim via the remote without needing to install a wall dimmer switch, or integrate it with a compatible smart dimmer system using the TRIAC kit.
Are the globes glass or plastic?
The globes are chrome-plated polycarbonate, not glass. This makes them lighter and less fragile than glass equivalents, while the chrome plating gives a mirror-polished metallic finish that reflects light.
Can the cable lengths be adjusted after installation?
Yes. The cables are adjustable during installation and can be re-adjusted later if needed. The canopy uses gravity toggles to hold the cables at the set lengths and maintain a flush ceiling line.
