Description

The Sphere 14 Light is a cluster pendant from Schuller carrying fourteen polycarbonate globes on adjustable cables arranged in a spiral configuration. Each globe houses an integrated LED module and has a chrome-mirrored interior that reflects light outward. The combined 50W LED output delivers 3,024 lumens at 3000K warm white, with Bluetooth-controlled dimming accessible via smartphone or voice assistant.

Designed for stairwells, double-height entrance halls and dining rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or above, the pendant's adjustable cables allow individual globes to be positioned anywhere between a 100cm compressed cluster and a 300cm extended spiral. The 50cm-diameter polished chrome canopy fixes to the ceiling with gravity-flush toggles that leave no visible fixings once installed, giving a clean finish against white or neutral ceilings.

The chrome-lined polycarbonate construction gives each globe a mirrored reflector effect when unlit and a diffused glow when illuminated. At 6.9kg total weight, the pendant requires a ceiling joist or reinforced fixing point capable of supporting the assembly. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior environments. The Bluetooth dimmer allows brightness to be adjusted without additional wall switches or trailing-edge dimmers, which suits retrofit installations where existing wiring cannot easily accommodate dimmer circuits.

How is the Bluetooth dimming controlled?

The pendant includes integrated Bluetooth dimming that pairs with iOS and Android smartphones. Once paired, brightness is adjusted through a dedicated app or via voice assistants compatible with Bluetooth lighting control. No additional dimmer switch or hub is required.

Can the cable lengths be adjusted after installation?

Yes. Each globe hangs on an individual cable that can be shortened or lengthened during installation to create the desired spiral configuration. The cables remain adjustable if the pendant is later repositioned or the drop height needs changing.

What ceiling height is needed?

The pendant works in rooms with ceiling heights between 3m and 5m. The adjustable drop allows the lowest globe to hang anywhere from 2m to 4.25m above floor level, depending on how the cables are configured and the ceiling height available.

Does it require a joist for fixing?

At 6.9kg, the pendant should be fixed to a ceiling joist or reinforced fixing point. Standard plasterboard alone will not support the weight safely. Use appropriate fixings for the ceiling construction and ensure the fixing point is load-rated above 10kg.
