Description

The Spectra is a 50cm cube-shaped outdoor pedestal light with an opal white plastic diffuser body, a ground spike for soft-earth installation, and a single E27 bulb fitting. The IP44 rating protects the fitting from solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for garden borders, patio edges and pathway lighting where the fitting sits in planted soil or grass.

Designed for larger outdoor spaces, the 50cm height and 50cm cube profile provides enough presence to work as a marker light along driveways, stepping stones or path edges without being tall enough to obstruct sightlines across the garden. The ground spike pushes into soil, bark mulch or grass, and the 2.15m cable runs back to a standard outdoor socket or junction box. The opal diffuser spreads light evenly in all four directions rather than casting a directed beam, giving ambient illumination rather than task lighting.

The white finish blends into modern, Scandinavian and coastal garden schemes without competing visually with planting or hard landscaping. The plastic diffuser is lighter than glass equivalents and less prone to breakage if knocked, while the cube form gives the fitting stability on uneven ground where a narrower column shape might lean. The E27 bulb is user-replaceable, allowing you to choose the colour temperature and wattage that suits the space.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The fitting takes a standard E27 bulb up to the maximum wattage stated in the specification. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-12W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor ambiance.

Can it be used in exposed positions?

The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction and solid objects over 1mm, making it suitable for garden borders, patios and pathways. It is not rated for full submersion or direct hosing, and should not be positioned where water pools around the base.

How is it installed?

The ground spike pushes into soft earth, grass or bark mulch. The 2.15m cable runs back to a standard outdoor socket or junction box. For hard surfaces like paving or decking, the spike cannot be used and an alternative mounting method would be needed.

Is the diffuser dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmable-compatible, but dimming performance depends on the bulb you install. Use a dimmable LED bulb and compatible dimmer switch to achieve dimming functionality.
