Description

This speckled mushroom figurine is made from shiny glass. Its domed cap is scattered in flecks of sky blue, yellow, orange, green, red and white, and rests on a soft white stem. The colour carries right round under the cap, where streaks of orange, yellow, green and blue fan out from the stem, so it looks just as cheerful from underneath as from the top. The stem is flecked with dark purple, the spots gathering more thickly towards the bottom, and it widens gently as it goes down, giving the piece a sturdy little toadstool shape. It stands 7.5cm tall, 5.4cm wide and 5.6cm deep.

At that size it fits easily on a bookshelf, a mantelpiece, a desk or a bedside table, bringing a bright, playful note without taking up much room. On a windowsill the glass catches the daylight, and the clearer flecks in the cap glow as the light passes through them.
