The Sparx is a 1205mm linear LED suspension light with an integrated 27W LED strip running the length of an extruded aluminium housing finished in matt black. The LED emits at 4000K (neutral white), directing light downwards in a single-direction beam suitable for task lighting over desks, kitchen worktops and conference tables. The fixture mounts on steel suspension cables with a 2150mm maximum drop, adjustable on installation.

Designed for commercial, office and residential settings where clean lines and focused illumination are required, the Sparx works individually over single workstations or in multiples above open-plan desks, kitchen islands and reception counters. The 50mm width and 50mm projection keep the visual profile minimal on the ceiling plane. The modular design allows multiple units to be run in parallel rows to cover wider surfaces, with each unit powered independently.

The extruded aluminium body acts as a passive heatsink for the LED array, dissipating thermal load across the 1205mm length without requiring active cooling or visible ventilation slots. The matt black finish absorbs ambient light rather than reflecting it, making the fixture recede visually when not lit and reducing glare from indirect sources during daylight hours. The neutral 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white (2700K-3000K) and cool daylight (5000K+), providing clarity for task work without the clinical cast of cooler LEDs. Rated IP20 for dry indoor use only.

Is the Sparx dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver is non-dimmable. If dimming capability is required for your installation, contact us to discuss alternative linear suspension models from the Ideal Lux range that support dimmer compatibility.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 2150mm suspension cable allows the light to be set anywhere from close to the ceiling down to approximately 600-800mm above a worktop or desk surface in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. The cable is adjustable during installation to suit the specific mounting height.

Can multiple units be linked together?

The Sparx is modular and can be installed in parallel rows to cover wider surfaces, but each unit is powered independently. There is no physical linking or daisy-chaining of power between units — each requires its own ceiling connection point.

Is it suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means the Sparx is suitable only for dry indoor environments. It is not rated for bathroom zones or any outdoor or moisture-exposed installation.
