Description

The Sparx is a 1205mm linear LED pendant light with a bi-emission design that sends light both upward to the ceiling and downward to the working surface below. The fitting houses integrated 40W LED modules at 4000K colour temperature inside an extruded aluminium body finished in white. The dual-direction output makes the light visible from below while also washing the ceiling, giving the appearance of the fitting floating rather than hanging heavy from a cable.

Designed for kitchen islands, office desks, hallway runs and commercial counter lighting where task visibility and ambient ceiling wash are both needed, the Sparx provides 120cm of continuous linear coverage from a single fitting. The 2150mm suspension cables allow ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m to position the fitting 700-900mm above a worktop or 600-750mm above a desk. The IP20 rating confines installation to dry indoor spaces only.

The white finish on the aluminium extrusion pairs cleanly with white ceilings and reflects daylight during off-hours, while the 4000K neutral white output from the LED modules provides clear visibility for food prep, paperwork and detailed tasks without the yellow cast of warmer LEDs. The modular design allows multiple 1205mm units to be installed end-to-end along the same cable run to extend coverage across longer surfaces where needed. The fitting is not dimmable and carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux.

What does bi-emission mean?

Bi-emission means the fitting emits light in two directions: downward to the work surface and upward to the ceiling. This creates both task lighting below and ambient ceiling wash above, making the fitting appear to float rather than casting a hard shadow onto the ceiling.

Can this be dimmed?

No. The integrated LED modules are not compatible with dimmer switches or controls. The light operates at full 40W output whenever switched on.

What ceiling height does it need?

The 2150mm suspension cable allows installation in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m. For a kitchen island or desk the fitting typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which requires at least 2.4m floor-to-ceiling clearance.

Can multiple units be joined end-to-end?

Yes. The modular design allows multiple 1205mm fittings to be installed along the same cable run to create continuous linear lighting across longer surfaces. Each fitting requires its own power connection.
