Description
The Sparx is a 1805mm bi-emission linear LED suspension light with an extruded aluminium body finished in matt black, housing an integrated 40W 3000K LED. The fitting emits light from both the top and bottom faces of the linear profile, distributing illumination upward onto the ceiling and downward into the room below. The 50mm projection and narrow rectangular profile keep the visual weight minimal despite the 1.8m length.
Designed for open-plan offices, conference rooms, kitchen islands longer than 1.6m, and reception areas, the Sparx provides continuous task and ambient lighting where multiple ceiling roses would otherwise be needed. The 2150mm cable length allows the suspension to be set at varying heights depending on ceiling pitch and intended use, with typical installation heights of 2.4-3m above finished floor level in office environments and 600-800mm above worktop height in residential kitchens.
The bi-emission design means the ceiling above the fitting receives indirect wash light while the room below receives direct task light, reducing the contrast between the fitting and the ceiling plane and softening the overall lighting effect. The extruded aluminium body acts as a heat sink for the integrated LED, maintaining a consistent 3000K colour temperature across the full length of the fitting without visible hot spots or colour shift. The matt black finish absorbs rather than reflects room light, making the fitting recede visually when not illuminated.
The Sparx is part of a modular system from Ideal Lux that includes 1200mm and 1805mm lengths, allowing multiple units to be combined on the same ceiling run where lighting coverage needs to exceed 1.8m. The fitting carries an IP20 rating for indoor use only and is not dimmable on standard UK mains. Ideal Lux backs the integrated LED with a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What does bi-emission mean?
Bi-emission means the fitting emits light from both the top and bottom faces. Light directed upward washes the ceiling above the fitting, while light directed downward illuminates the room below, creating balanced distribution without harsh shadows.
Can the Sparx be dimmed?
No. The integrated LED is not compatible with dimmer switches on standard UK mains. The 40W output at 3000K is fixed.
What length of kitchen island does this suit?
The 1805mm length suits kitchen islands of 1.6-2m in length when suspended 600-800mm above the worktop. For longer islands, multiple Sparx units can be installed in sequence on the same ceiling run.
Can multiple units be joined together?
The Sparx is part of a modular system. While individual units cannot be physically joined end-to-end, multiple 1200mm or 1805mm fittings can be installed on the same ceiling run to create a continuous lighting effect across longer spans.
