Description
The Sparx is a 1805mm linear LED suspension light with an integrated 27W LED strip inside an extruded aluminium body finished in white. The 4000K colour temperature produces neutral white light, falling between the warmer tones of residential lighting and the cooler tones of clinical settings, making it suitable for offices, commercial kitchens, retail environments and home kitchens where task visibility matters.
Designed for surface-mounted or suspended installation above desks, kitchen islands, retail counters and workbenches, the Sparx casts light downwards in a single direction with a 50mm projection from the ceiling. The 1805mm length covers approximately 1.6-1.8m of worktop or desk space with even illumination, reducing the need for multiple smaller fittings. The 2150mm cable run allows the fitting to be suspended at various heights depending on ceiling clearance and the task below.
The extruded aluminium construction gives the fitting structural rigidity across its length without sagging, while the white powder-coat finish integrates cleanly into white or light-painted ceilings. The modular design allows multiple Sparx units to be installed end-to-end or in parallel rows for larger areas, creating continuous runs of light in open-plan offices or long commercial kitchens. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor environments only.
The integrated LED is non-dimmable and rated at 27W, delivering approximately 2700 lumens depending on the specific LED module used by Ideal Lux in current production. The 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux covers the LED driver and housing but does not extend to LED degradation beyond normal operational parameters.

Frequently Asked
Is the Sparx dimmable?
No. The integrated LED driver is not compatible with dimmer switches. Attempting to install a dimmer will likely damage the driver and void the warranty.
Can multiple units be joined end-to-end?
The Sparx can be installed in runs with minimal gaps between units, creating the appearance of continuous lighting. Each unit requires its own ceiling fixing point and mains connection — they do not physically interlock or share a single power supply.
What colour temperature is 4000K?
4000K is neutral white, sitting between warm white (2700-3000K used in residential settings) and cool white (5000K+ used in hospitals and industrial facilities). It provides good colour rendering for task work without the clinical feel of cooler temperatures.
Can it be used in bathrooms or kitchens near water?
The IP20 rating means the fitting has no protection against moisture ingress. It is suitable for dry indoor environments only, including domestic kitchens away from sinks and hobs, but not for bathrooms or zones near water sources.
