Sparka-1 Outdoor Wall Light - Anthracite

The Sparka-1 is a rectangular anthracite outdoor wall light with a single G9 bulb fitting behind a transparent tempered glass diffuser. The aluminium housing measures 100mm wide by 90mm projection and carries an IP44 rating, protecting the bulb and electrical components from moisture and airborne dust. The powder-coated anthracite finish resists corrosion and UV degradation in outdoor conditions.

Designed for vertical surfaces on house walls, garage exteriors, garden room facades and patio zones, the Sparka-1 provides downward and forward light distribution suitable for illuminating pathways, doorways and outdoor seating areas. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for sheltered outdoor locations where direct water jets are not expected. The G9 fitting accepts halogen or LED capsule bulbs up to the rated wattage (see Specification), with LED options providing lower running costs and longer lifespan.

The rectangular box profile sits 90mm proud of the wall when fitted, with visible fixing through the back plate. The tempered glass diffuser is recessed slightly into the front face, reducing glare when viewed from below while allowing the bulb light to spread across the wall surface and down to ground level. The anthracite powder coat has a fine-textured finish that diffuses reflections under daylight and pairs with both contemporary grey exteriors and traditional brickwork.

Made by Ideal Lux in Italy, the Sparka-1 carries a five-year manufacturer warranty covering material and finish defects. The aluminium construction gives the fitting a lighter weight than steel equivalents while maintaining structural rigidity for long-term outdoor installation.

What does the IP44 rating mean?

IP44 provides protection against solid objects larger than 1mm (dust and small debris) and water splashing from any direction. The Sparka-1 is suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as under eaves, in porches, or on covered patios, but not in locations where it would be subjected to direct jets of water or full weather exposure.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb (sold separately). G9 bulbs are available in halogen and LED formats. LED G9 bulbs typically consume 3-5W and last 15,000-25,000 hours, while halogen G9 bulbs consume 25-40W and last 2,000-3,000 hours. Check the Specification table for the maximum wattage rating.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the Sparka-1 is dimmable when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. LED G9 bulbs vary in dimmer compatibility, so check the bulb packaging for dimmer suitability before pairing with a dimmer circuit.

Can it be fitted to brick or render?

Yes. The back plate has fixing holes for wall plugs and screws. For brick, block or masonry walls, use appropriately-rated wall plugs. For render or plaster over solid backgrounds, ensure fixings penetrate to the structural wall behind. The fitting weighs approximately 0.5-0.8kg when fitted with a bulb.
