Description

This pack contains five spare reset keys for ESP MagDuo manual call points, compatible with both the MAGDUOCP standard model and the MAGDUOCPIP65 weatherproof variant. The keys are moulded from matt black plastic with a cylindrical shaft and hook-shaped head designed to engage with the internal reset mechanism of MagDuo call points after activation.

Manual call points require a reset key to return the unit to standby after the frangible element has been broken during an alarm activation. The MagDuo range uses a magnetic hold-release mechanism that requires this specific key profile to disengage the internal latch and restore the call point to its normal monitoring state. Spare keys are typically kept at fire alarm control panels, in building management offices, or issued to fire wardens responsible for post-drill resets.

Each key measures 120mm in length with a 70mm vertical profile including the hook, moulded as a single piece with no moving parts or breakable components. The hook profile fits the recessed keyhole on both indoor and IP65-rated outdoor MagDuo call points without modification. At 20g per key, the pack weighs 100g total and can be stored in control panel cabinets or key safes without adding bulk.

Frequently Asked

Which call points do these keys fit?

These keys are compatible with ESP MagDuo manual call points, specifically the MAGDUOCP indoor model and the MAGDUOCPIP65 weatherproof outdoor model. They will not fit other manufacturer's call points or earlier ESP models with different reset mechanisms.

How many keys should a building keep as spares?

Most installations keep at least two spare keys at the fire alarm control panel and additional keys at building management offices or with designated fire wardens. For multi-floor buildings or sites with regular fire drills, keeping one spare key per floor is common practice.

Can the keys be re-ordered individually?

ESP supplies these keys in packs of five. Individual key supply is not available from the manufacturer, so this pack is the minimum order quantity.

Are the keys suitable for outdoor use?

The keys themselves are moulded plastic and can be used outdoors to reset IP65-rated MAGDUOCPIP65 call points. However, the keys should be stored indoors when not in use to prevent UV degradation of the plastic over time.
