Description

The Sophie is a 2-light wall light with a silver-painted metal backplate, two curved arms holding white organza shades, and clear crystal drops suspended from decorative bobeches beneath each shade. Each arm holds an E14 candle bulb (sold separately), and the light diffuses through the pleated white organza to cast soft ambient illumination across a wall.

Designed for bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms and hallways where decorative wall lighting is needed without ceiling pendant wiring, the Sophie can be fitted as a single unit above a console table or fireplace, or used in pairs flanking a bed headboard or mirror. The 475mm width suits standard domestic wall spaces and the 180mm height projection allows it to clear picture rails and dado moulding. The fitting mounts to a standard UK electrical back box and is compatible with dimmer switches when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs.

The silver-painted finish on the metal frame and the white organza fabric on the shades give the fitting a cooler palette that pairs well with chrome bathroom accessories, stainless-steel kitchen finishes, and grey or white-painted interiors. The crystal drops beneath each shade catch available light and add reflective detail without the weight of a full crystal chandelier. At 1.9kg the fitting needs secure wall fixings into masonry or into a stud behind plasterboard.

The 1 year warranty covers the fitting under normal domestic use. Because it needs dimmable E14 lamps to dim, fitting standard non-dimmable bulbs will leave the light at full output only, so choose lamps to match your switch and avoid flicker.

The fitting takes two E14 candle bulbs, sold separately. We suggest pairing this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bedroom or living room lighting.

Is the Sophie dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb and dimmer combination.

Can the organza shades be removed for cleaning?

Yes. The organza shades typically clip or slide onto the E14 bulb holder and can be removed for dusting. Vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment or shake outdoors to remove dust. Do not wash the organza in water.

What wall fixings are needed?

At 1.9kg the fitting requires secure wall fixings. Use masonry anchors rated for at least 5kg when fitting to brick or block, or locate a timber stud behind plasterboard and use wood screws. The electrical back box should be firmly fixed before the fitting is mounted.
